アフガニスタンの人々に寄せていただいているお心遣いと同情の念に大変感謝します。
最近のアフガニスタンの内情について少しだけお知らせしておきます。
国連と支援団体に対し、タリバンは悲しむべき行動をずっととり続けており、これはとても重大な問題で、アフガニスタンの人々の暮らしが少しでもよくなるようにと活動している者全員にとって懸念する事態となっています。
現在の状況では、誰もが安全も心の安らぎも感じていません。
昨日、10月15日、アフガン時間の17時に、タリバン当局の武装した人員が、マザリシャリフにあるわたしたちの支部事務所へ押しいってきました。
ガードマンを殴りつけてから、ドアのカギを壊し、事務所へ侵入しました。事務所の設備を全て盗み出し、後には何も残っていませんでした。
盗まれた物としては、車3台、パソコン、通信機（Codanラジオ、Sitor など）事務機器、オフィス用品および器具などが含まれていました。
被害は、アフガニスタンの主要都市にあるOMARの他の事務所にも及びました。車！！と通信システムを全て取り上げられたのです。
空爆とタリバンが引き起こしたこのような現状のもとで、全ての人が大変な危険に曝され問題に直面しています。
多くのアフガンニスタン人は、10月15日の記者会見でラムズフェルド国防長官が「罪の無い人々が亡くなるのは気の毒だが、9月11日のWTCビルへのテロリストの襲撃で6000人以上も亡くなったのだ」と、語った事を心配しています。
その内容は、私が思うには犯罪行為には関わりもなく10年以上にわたって将軍たちが行ってきた事にも何の興味も示していないアフガニスタンの罪の無い民衆を相手に、アメリカが少しとはいえ、報復行為を行う事を示唆しているからです。
空爆の結果、数千人の民衆がアフガニスタンから逃れ、近隣諸国への難民の流出は膨大な数へと増加しました。
この状況で、アフガン人は多くの苦難に直面し、冬になれば一般のアフガン人にも問題が増大するでしょう。
戦争、治安の欠如、統治能力のない政府、飢餓、貧困、劣悪な財政状態などが、アフガンの人々にとって大きな障害です。
充分な食料と医薬品が届けられないと、10万人の子供の生命が危険にさらされます。10人中7人の子供は家族を失っています。子供達の９０％は、自分は戦争のために死ぬと考えています。
現在抱えるジレンマに加え、20年来ずっと、今でもアフガンの民衆を悩ましているもう一つの既存の問題は、国内のいたるところにある膨大な数の地雷の存在です。
アフガニスタンに対して英米連合軍がクラスター爆弾を使用するというニュースは、新たな心痛むニュースでしたし、（もしこれが事実なら） さらに、一般市民の死傷者が長期的にも短期的にも発生すると予測します。

Dear friends
Thank you very much for the feelings and sympathy you have with the people of Afghanistan. It is just to keep you informed about the latest developments inside Afghanistan. A saddened action has been taken by the taliban against the UN and Aid agencies, which is a matter of great, concerns for every one working for the betterment of the people of Afghanistan. In this situation no one feels safe and secured, Yesterday on Oct 15, at 17:00. Afghan Time, Some Armed personnel of Taliban authorities forced its way to one of Our Site Office in Mazar-e-Sharif. They beat our Guards after that they broke the locks of the doors and entered into the Office. They looted all the office equipment and left nothing behind in the Office. The looted property includes (3 Vehicles, Computers, Communication Facilities i.e Codan Radios and Sitor, Office equipment and utensils. The threats has also been given to the other Offices of OMAR which exists in Main Cities of Afghanistan hand over all the Ve!!hicles and Communication SystemsEvery One is in great danger and faces lots of problems in the present situation, from Air Strikes and the Talibans. Most of the Afghans are worried about what Mr. Rumsfeld Secretary of Defense said in his press Conference on Oct 15, that ( We regret the killing of innocent people but More than 6000 people were also killed in a terrorist attack on WTC on the September the 11th). It gives a little bit indication of some sort of revenge that America is taking from Innocent people of Afghanistan, which I think have not committed the crime and even not interested in what the War Lords have been doing for 10 years.
Due to the Air Strikes thaousonds of people are fleeing from Afghanistan and influx of refugees to its neighboring countries enormously increased. The Afghans are facing many problems due to the present situation and the arrival of winter season will increase the problems of an ordinary afghan. War, Lack of Security, Lack of represented Government, Starvation, Poverty and poor financial status are big obstacles to the Afghan people. The lives of 100000 children are at risk. If sufficient food and medicine is not reached to them. Every seven of out of 10 children lost their family members and 90% of them think that they will die in fighting.
In addition to the present dilemma, the other existing problems that afghan people are facing since two decades are the presence of tremendous numbers of mines in most part of the country. The use of Cluster Bomb by Allied Forces on Afghanistan is another heart breaking News (if it is true) then more civilian casualties are expected in short as well long term.
